Yay to having graduated! Life is happy. :D
So, let's recap!
2009 . 4 . 27
Peer Min Overnight Retreat
09.5.1
Prom!
I had a lovely time. We had a really good DJ, which made it really nice, yay. Sadly, I didn't do a lot of socializing (but this is because I was dancing the whole time, so I can't really be held accountable... right?). But I brought my friend from elementary/middle school. All was happy.
09.5.19
LotR Marathon
Okay. So I had planned an expedition to P-town early on. But my friend MCHammah forgot about it and decided to throw a marathon soiree instead... Which meant that I had to cancel my plans.
Oh. Okay. Sure. Thanks, MC. >:( Well, I'm not actually peeved or anything (even though I feel kinda sad that my plans (obviously) don't matter that much in comparison to hers?), but it was kinda like, "Oh. Hey. Yeah. Cool, MC."
But I had fun at her place, so I can't even pretend to be mad at her.
Plus, we got so many epic jumpshots. So all was excellent.
09.5.21
Peer Min Breakup Dinner
It's always fun to hang wit' my crew. :) Me 'n my peeps with Bucket and stuff.
(Though in all honesty, I feel like it's kinda sad at times because my friends have their own little groups within their groups. Granted, these groups are not exclusive, and people often find themselves in many groups. But it's kinda weird because I feel like a fifth wheel at times. Like, I'm that removed. But whatever. I know that they don't do it intentionally, so I should stop reading so much into it. :) In short, it was lovely to just chill with my friends.)
09.5.22
Carnival!
Okay, so FDay (which just comprises a giant Q-Tip attack arena, a dunk tank, a slip 'n slide, and a bungee race) is totally NOT even close to being a carnival in any way, shape, or form. But bear with me please.
After graduation practice (the second one), we seniors just kinda headed into the sun and chilled... (burned, actually. But I had sunblock (shout-out to Sam), so I was fine).
Then I fenced in the evening like I do on Fridays.
09.5.23
Boston Expedition
My friends (MCHammah, D, and Blemma) and I went into Boston and just chilled. We went to the ICA and parked there in the morning. There were some Mike 'n Ikes on the steps in the back, so I kinda kicked them. And they went into the water, so we all just started to see who could get them into el agua. And then I took an epic picture of the four of us. We're so epic. <3 size="5">CHICKEN MCnutmegger's Funny-Fun-Fun
I headed out into Pawtucket to hang at the pre-grad party of my friend Nutmeg. There were lots of people there, and I had mucho fun. There was awkward Twister, huge freeze pops at the Paw Sox game, and Mystery Awkward gaming. Magical fun.
09.5.25
Senior Cruise
Um... sucky DJ. Just putting that out there. (HE SUCKED.) His music choice was poor, and all of the music was made into some weird remix. It was a lot of FAIL all in one night.
Also, the dance floor was at most 10 x 15 feet. What kind of dance floor is that?
But I made my way onto the dance floor early on with my friend Ash-Ash. We started breaking it down, and people soon started joining us. So now, we both always remind ourselves with pride that WE started the dance floor. Thanks.
09.5.27
Six Flags Fail?
Um. So I had planned a Six Flags trip a few weeks prior to this day. But then rain was predicted, and a ton of my friends were last-minute saying, "No. Can't make it." and "It's raining. No." So I kinda gave up and told everyone the night prior to this that the plans were cancelled. So I ended up hanging out with D. And all was fun. Because I love her company.
Oh. And I have an epic video of Blemma's Rock Band fail... I love to tease her with this. But I hope she knows I only poke fun of her because I love her/because she def. started it first.
09.5.28
GRADUATION!
GRADUATION! What more can I say?
I ended up taking not-enough pictures. FAIL. Don't get me wrong -- I took a TON of pics. But I still feel like I didn't take enough. (I'll miss you, '09 Supafine. I love you all (most of you). Legit.)
But I just ended up at D's with Blemma, D, CayCon, Wiki, Marge, and Cec afterwards. We had fun just chilling, as per usual. :)
09.5.29
Picnic (EPIC FAIL)
So. I had planned this picnic (which was a joint birthday picninc with my friend Kung-Fu Powla. And also a mini going-away party). But it was raining. So we couldn't do that. So we ended up moving it to D's, who lives uber-close to where we wanted to picnic.
And all was lovely. :)
09.5.30
Blemma's Shindig
Blemma had a grad party. And it was fun. And I wanted to steal one of her relatives because she was REALLY cute. (She was 18 months old, and she follwed me a lot. And she was just adorable. One day, I think I'll adopt. Or I'll make sure that my siblings get married. Because I love to take care of kids.)
And then afterwards, I went over a family friend's house to have a good-bye dinner with the family. There were lovely noms, and it was so nice to just be there one last time. But as we left, they were getting teary-eyed... I think my family has really made a lot of close friends in these last 11 years in MA. A lot of people have fond memories of us and were really sad to see us go. I think (correction: I know) that I was blessed with a lot of loving people in my life.
09.5.31
Provincetown!
This was SO lovely. I went to P-town with D, Blemma, Ash-Ash, and Arielle. It was just lovely. P-town is very quaint and pretty. Seriously, the houses were charming, as were the people. It was a totally friendly place, and everyone was so welcoming.
Early on, we met a celebrity. :O ! It was very much awesome.
And we just kinda walked around, being really cool.
I really should have taken more pics in reflection. Like, LOADS more.
But I think I'll make this an annual trip because it was simply wonderful. I had so much fun.
09.6.1
Going-Away Gathering
Okay. So D was like, "Let's just get people over my house to have a going-away party." I found this extremely thoughtful of her. I love her. (Thanks!)
I chilled at her house (which I had done 6 out of the last 9 days. So this made it my 7th time within 9 days, haha. At that point, I just decided that I lived at her house). People came/left/came/left. I was very happy to see all of these kids, and we kinda just ate fried food all day (ugh. Fattttttt... Why must most delicious foods have such high fat/calorie content? Yuck).
Thanks: D, Blemma, Wholianna, Ash-Ash, Steve, DSte, DWhi, EL, NB, Aubs, Samule, Arielle, Nutmeg, Nifto K-Wowka, MCHammah.
09.6.2
PLANE!!!
Left for HK.
We checked out at 5 AM and went to return the car we borrowed from our family friend, the Benoit family. They're another family that I was blessed to have met (should I just make a shout-out list? It'd be so exstensive, though...).
Then LOGAN AIRPORT! I got a text at about 8 from Ash-Ash. She wished me a good flight, and I was so happy. I don't have texting, so I couldn't reply. But if you're reading this, THANK YOU once more! I love you lotsa.
Then Chicago O'Hare. Then 15(?) hours later (THANK YOU, TAILWIND, FOR THE SHORTENED FLIGHT!!!), we arrived in HK.
But then we had to fill out health forms. And my brother had had a fever, congestion, and a cough within the past week. (BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Ever since SARS, HK has been really alert and has tried to keep epidemics away. And with swine flu, HK is taking no chances.)
So we were pulled aside, and some people examined him. They decided that he should undergo further examination, so he was escorted to the hospital with my mom. Meanwhile, my dad and I went to the apartment. Later that night, my mom came back with news that my brother was under watch for the night and might come home the next day (which is today). And our family is highly encouraged to place our unit under quarantine for a week just in case.
But it was weird. I had undergone the traveling journey for essentially 24 hours. And it was night. (This is because of the 12-hour time difference.) Thankfully, I had pulled an all-nighter before leaving, so I basically slept on the plane the whole time. So I adjusted and had basically no jet lag.
But this morning, I woke up at 2 AM and heard thunder. So I sat and watched lightning/listened to thunder for an hour. I love thunderstorms. They're so amazing. And then I went back to sleep. But then I woke at 5, and it was still storming outside. So I did some more nature-watching. And there was a REALLY loud thunderclap. It was crazy-loud. My heart started to pound really hard because it was so close/loud. It was shocking. But kinda cool. And then I went to bed again. And I woke at about 6. And I just got up and made some more thank-you notes. (I got through a few before my parents got up.)
And then we (by "we", I mean "I") just unpacked. And it's all nice and neat. Let's see how long that lasts, haha.
But yeah. I'm in HK now. I'll try to stay in touch as best as I can!
I love you all SO much, friends.
My love goes out to you, <3 .
BTW! The time difference is +12 hours. I've changed my laptop to HK time, so I don't know how things will post on facebook and stuff. But it's 11 AM (6.24) in HK right now, which means that it's 11 PM (6.23) in MA. Just as a point of reference.
Okay. LOVELOVELOVE. =]
11 AM, 09.6.4
1. I read the whole thing, cuz I love you.
ReplyDelete2. The current event stuff went over my head, but I'lll pray for your brother :(
3. I rather enjoyed your overuse of the words "epic" and "fail" and also the phrase "and all was..." and found myself laughing harder each time one fo them appeared.
4. You should've taken me to prom.
5. What is this talk about adoption? I'm having your babies. duhhhrrrr.
6. I like thunder! :D
7. I was just thinking today about how many asian people are in China. You know, pretty much everyone. I would be so asianed out. Srsly. I like having one or two around, but that much sensation is unfathomable. And kind of awesome... 2343259873204957463 vincents! WHOAH :D
